I wish this was a smart lock. For the price point I feel like it should be. It does have fingerprint access which is pretty cool. The handle doesn’t want to stay level which is a bit annoying. And it seems to stick on the door frame where the handle is.
I’m so impressed with the high quality of this Phillips Home Access 1000 series electronic deadbolt with fingerprint sensor! It features a fingerprint touchscreen keypad, electronic deadbolt and even comes with an attractive door lever and ultra long life batteries. There are four ways to unlock the deadbolt: an electronic PIN code, a fingerprint sensor, one-time use codes, and a mechanical key. The one-time use codes are great for giving family, friends or service people access to your home with a code that can only be used one time and is discarded by the system. Installation is doable for anyone with some DIY experience, instructions aren’t the most clear but can be figured out if you have some experience. I didn’t need to modify my door thankfully, but it comes with drilling templates and instructions in case your door isn’t 100% compatible with the device right out of the box. A few useful tips I have is: 1) make sure the white electronic cable has room to be fished into the door hole opening before connecting it to the inside portion of the lock. 2) don’t use the app to set up the deadbolt in the beginning, instead use the included printed instructions to program your master code and personal codes. Overall, an excellent product and worth every penny, I highly recommend it!
This door set looks really nice and modern with a great black finish. The quality is what I would expect from a company like Phillips. The security features are great on this lock and with a recognized brand, it does make me feel a little better about the app and hardware support. I do like that it has multiple ways to unlock it. Probably the most common the me and my family will be using is the fingerprint reader. This is simple to set up, similar to any other device that you have had to set up with a finger print like your phone. The second and the backup for all of us is the PIN code. It will store more PIN codes than we will ever need, but great that we can all have our own unique codes. I do also like that I can give out a one-time password for friends or family who dropped by and I am not at home or I would be home later. This is convenient for those times when people drop in unannounced and I am not home. And as a fall back you still are able to open it using a good old fashioned key. The fingerprint reader swivels easily out of the way to access the keyhole. This is a great mechanical fail safe in case any of the electronics fail due to dead batteries or anything else. The price is more than fair considering it is coming from such a well known brand name. The installation and use are easy assuming you have ever installed a door handle and deadbolt before. I really like this lock and feel the quality and name were a great deal at this price.
Over the years, I have given family members duplicates of our house keys so they can enter the house when we need help or on vacation. Most of the time, these keys were lost or misplaced. Now that we have the Philips keyless door lock, that is no longer a problem. It is now very convenient to give them access codes. I hope that they remember the codes and also to keep them secure. The door lock's installation should have been straightforward, but I had difficulty attaching the interior assembly to the mounting plate due to the exterior assembly cable connector. Once I completed that, the other installation steps were a breeze. However, I still had to patch the holes used in the old lock and repaint the door. It was easy to add the master PIN code, user PIN codes, and fingerprints. I created one-time PIN codes with the Philips Home Access app. I also enabled the timed auto-locking feature, which is good to have in case we forget to lock the door. It is very convenient to be able to open the door using a digital code, fingerprint, or physical key.
I recently installed the Philips Fingerprint Door Lock, and I must say, it feels very sturdy and well-made. The installation process was straightforward; it would have taken only 15 to 20 minutes if the previous lock on our door hadn’t been improperly installed and crooked. The fingerprint feature works exceptionally well, making access quick and convenient. I haven’t tried the combination option yet, as using the fingerprint sensor is so easy and efficient.
I am very satisfied with the Series 1000 smart deadbolt; it was very easy to install and program, and it also has a very elegant appearance.
Great product! I love the fingerprint feature, it makes things much easier than using a code or a key. I really didn’t care about having a Wi-Fi connection, which made the price reasonable for what I wanted. I strongly recommend it. My only concern is that I’m not sure if I set it up correctly. I don’t know how to lock it from the outside, so I set it to automatically lock after 30 seconds. Other than that, I’m very happy with it.

I had to call Philipp's customer service for help resetting my master door code and Jamie was fantastic! She provided step by step instructions, was very clear and very kind. I love the lock and having customer service with an actual person is amazing.

If you have kids who are always losing their keys, or if you get home and fumble around and have to put down all your stuff to find your own key, this is a benefit added door lock for you! If you have a family member who never remembers to lock the door behind them and this makes you feel not that secure, this is a good investment in your peace of mind. The door deadbolt automatically closes after a couple of minutes being unlocked, and if the door is not shut correctly or for some other reason didn't shut right, it makes an alarm sound so you can be aware that it wasn't able to lock. To set it up, you can take 8 different thumbprint scans so that even if you are juggling bags of groceries and other items, no matter how you mash your finger on the little pad, it will recognize it. You can also pick a 4 digit code to use on the keypad. Or, you can use a traditional key. As a person who is usually flying out the door on the way to something time-sensitive, I really like knowing that the door will lock behind me, I have have to make sure it's shut securely. I also really like the keypad because you can have a trusted friend or neighbor also add their fingerprint, so at a moments notice they can feed your cat or check to see you turned off the stove, or whatever, without having to make a spare key and give it away or hide it. We obviously use this every day multiple times, and I am always glad to have made the investment.
I've been using the Philips Keyless Entry Door Lock for a little over a year, and it hits almost every box for convenience, security, and modern design with its matte black finish. It was pretty easy to install, but I highly recommend reading the instructions first... or during... but definitely not after... not that I know anything about that. The fingerprint reader is a great feature when you have your hands full or forgot your passcode, but I like that it has a physical key as backup. I also like the auto‑lock because I don't have to worry if I forgot to lock it, but keep in mind that it can lock behind you when you don't want it to, so there is a learning curve for this. The batter is pretty decent during the warm months but when the temps dip below Zero F, it can make the batteries sluggish. Speaking of weather, I did buy a cover for this because it is exposed to the elements and I recommend doing the same if it isn't going to be under cover of a porch. Overall, this is definitely a nice upgrade from a traditional deadbolt and I recommend it.

Is all manual, the app WILL NOT work to update pin or manage the lock. Very pretty, looks very sharp… but it’s 2026, I should not be managing pins manually on the lock. Also, lock does not really read your touch good.
The lock is nice and the customer service is responsive during weekday hrs. The app could be better with more useful features. Installation instructions we ok as well.
It was easy to install and try out, but once installed, it didn't seem like it could withstand a beating if needed. The device might be suitable for someone in an apartment/condo situation where building access may secure apartment front doors. But if the building already has good security, you might not need a lock like this.
My previous smart lock was from a Chinese company and served me well after five years. I wanted to switch to a different lock and Amazon had this unit during a flash sale. The lock arrived new in the box. Instructions were straightforward and all the necessary hardware was included. The included template for drilling holes into the door was clear, but I didn't need it for my installation. After getting the lock installed, I was able to set up the lock for my PIN codes and fingerprints. The touch panel and fingerprint sensor are very responsive and the voice guided prompts are clear. Actuating the deadbolt was smooth and complete. I also paired the lock to the Philips app on my phone using the QR codes specific to my lock. While the app was successful in connecting to the lock, it only allows setting a one time access code. Suggested improvements to the app (which my former smart lock supported) are: - Allow the lock to be locked and unlocked remotely from the app - allow integration with Amazon Alexa or other smart hubs - allow configuration of separate family members with unique fingerprints and PINs Apparently, these features are available with the higher-series of Philips smart lock.
These are wonderful! I put them on my daughter’s doors ! They automatically lock after 30 seconds.
I like how fast this opens with the fingerprint reader. However, the big flaw is that it hardly ever works when it gets cold outside. We don't live in a particularly cold area but even mild cold weather can cause it to shut off. I once had to heat it up with a hair dryer to get it to work.

I received the wrong item. I have not been able to get it resolved. It was a Christmas gift and my dad still does not have the correct lock.
It was a bit tricky to install because the motor was rotating in the opposite direction of the door. So, it took me a whole afternoon to figure out and fix the problem because the manual wasn't very clear, and I had to look for tutorials on YouTube. I was very close to returning it, but once it was properly installed it has worked great.

We have had this for several months now and I’ve had no issues with using it. The only thing, probably user error, we were unable to set up fingerprint scanning for our kids. It locks and unlocks easily. I will mention it does not have an app to unlock from your phone. I appreciate that it verbally says “unlocked” or “locked”. I listen for it as I am walking away. Overall I would recommend!
Bought this for my parents about a year ago, it's been working fine ever since. Haven't had any problems with the key codes or fingerprints.
I literally removed 'checking if the front door is locked' off my nightly to do list. I did not even know it had an auto-lock feature when I bought it and that is now my favorite part.
This is a great product, but not perfect. First, the keyless entry via fingerprint is very convenient when temperatures are above freezing or condensation is not present. When either of the above scenarios exist, the thumb pad almost never works, requiring me to use the keypad (not ideal, but works). Second, the locking mechanism likes to act up when the weather is below 40. This may not be a Philips issue, it may be related to the batteries being cold, but regardless, it impacts the speed in which the door unlocks. If you’re in a safe area, don’t waste your time installing the pass through bolt. It makes the install 10X more difficult.

Good value for the price! Easy to install and instructions are clear. Sometimes the lock gets stuck closed when the correct code is put in and it says it’s unlocked. Have to click the checkmark to make it think it’s locked and then re-enter the code for it to unlock.

The door installed fairly easy but there is an issue with it working properly. The door lock fine from inside with zero issues. The door will lock from the outside with the door open but will not lock from the outside when the door is shut. Issues are now resolved and the door lock is currently working flawlessly.
Got it for door and it was a quick and easy set up. Havent had any issues. Buy this and save your money.
