Great product, easy to install including the mobile app (iPhone). So far so good, works as expected. Finger print recognition works well.

We had a "smart" lock many years ago when they were first new, and it left me a little hesitant to try again. But, after a dozen years or so, I saw this Philips model recently and thought I'd give it a shot. The lock itself was very easy to install if you've ever changed a doorknob or deadbolt. The process is very similar, except there is just one extra backing plate that you install for this model.
Once installed, you download the controller app, and setup your lock. After setup, you can then link to Alexa (and I assume Google/Apple, etc. as well.) The remote features work well, and my favorite feature is the fingerprint key. You can assign fingerprints to all your household members and with just a finger scan, the door unlocks. You can also use PIN codes for each person (either permanenet or temporary), and even a good old fashioned metal key hole exists under the fingerprint scanner.
The functionality within home assistants like alexa is limited though, I suppose for security. I can tell alexa to lock the back door, but I then have to tell her a code as well. I'm not sure if this is the same with the other assistants and the code requirement is coming from the Philips skill on each, or if it is Alexa specifically. I could see the need for this to unlock a door, as you wouldn't want a stranger just walking by and yelling through the window to Alexa to unlock the door without some verification, but to lock it, that prevents any automation scenes or routines from running automatically with the lock included. Again, not sure if that's a Philips thing or an Amazon thing, but it doesn't change my rating.
We're still very pleased with the lock so far. The app notifies us when there has been activity on the lock, and it even can auto lock at certain times of the day/night for you. The only downside to this lock is the relative noise compared to others I've seen. This one is a bit louder than most when locking the door, but other than that, we love it!

I do like the product, I think that there’s limited setting options with a software, but in some ways that might make it more reliable, but it’s actual functionality is amazing.

I picked up this Philips Wi-fi Door Lock for quick access to to a room at work. This is a nice lock that seems to work well. Note - this is only a "bolt lock" so I needed a handle as well to pull the door closed. This lock also has a solid integration with the Philips "Home Access" app that I downloaded from the Google play store (need it to set the Master Pin to program finger prints. Note - the apps user ratings could be higher) so users should be able and willing to work with a phone app. The product was pretty easy to put together. The only mild tricks were twisting the backset to extend the latch, finding the battery compartment, getting 8 AA batteries (not included), making sure the power cable is firmly attached in its port before tightening everything down, and using the included face plate because the the one I already had wasn't compatible. Next I had to download the Philips Home Access app from Google play onto my phone, set up a new account, hold the reset button for 5 seconds on the lock, connect to wi-fi and add the lock to the app. I'm never a fan of adding smart items to apps because I tend to run into problems with the permissions or wi-fi connection but I guessed my way through the process. I set the master pin in the app (code needed to add finger prints, etc) as well as a permanent pin (personal pin that unlocks the door - not sure why they call it permanent). After that I had to use the master pin to add my 8 fingerprints to the lock and it was ready to go. Function - works well. It recognizes my fingerprints very well. Unlocks pretty smoothly, and seems like a solid lock. The pin works well, the lock/unlock button within the Home Access app works well (as long as the modem and router have power), and worse case scenario (power outage) I can twist the fingerprint reader to reveal a hidden keyhole for the 2 keys that came with it. I didn't see anything that said this bolt lock was waterproof so I am using it for interior locks only eg. garage, interior office, etc.. Also, anytime it opens I get a "Alert" that shows up on my phone telling me that it has been opened and how it was opened (latch, code, fingerprint) which is a neat security extra. Overall, I think this is a good lock for users who are comfortable with smart devices that require cell phone app setup. The physical part of the install was easy, the finger print reader is great, I think I can open it while away from the house for friends and family using the app, so it has really nice features. I'm not a big fan of devices that are app dependant though, due to software bugs, permissions, and lifetime support needs, but so far this has been pretty good. I think this bolt lock is best for interior doors, garage doors and interior offices. The ability to open it from a cellphone is good for letting guests or co-workers in while I'm away. The cellphone alerts are good as an added security feature while I'm away. Overall it's been a good product.

It’s 2026 and you should have some smart home features by now and one of them should be a smart door lock. Philips is a trusted brand and they have made a decent smart deadbolt lock for your front (or back) door that has all that you could ask for in a door lock. It has fingerprint recognition (just put you finger on the lock and it opens once you program it in). It has a numerical passcode input (in case you hands are cold and you’re wearing gloves and you don’t want to use the fingerprint option or if you want to set a temporary passcode for friends, family, or a service that you need access to your house for). It has a physical lock (if your battery runs out). It has wifi built in and an app that you can use to remotely unlock/lock the door. It has Alexa and Google Assistant connectivity so you can be extra lazy and just tell it to unlock the door. It automatically locks at when you walk away and forget to lock it.
It’s easy to install as long as you have the same style of lock in the door. The price is actually slightly less expensive than the competition therefore I give it a full 5 stars. Like other smart locks, the fingerprint function sometimes is non-responsive due to your hands are cold or you don’t get your finger exactly the way you programmed it on the sensor (it can be picky). Otherwise it’s a great smart lock with all the features you could ask for at a decent price.

This smart lock has more features than I expected. It includes a keypad, keys, fingerprint access, and everything needed for installation. The instructions pamphlet is very detailed and easy to follow, which is always helpful when setting up a new lock.
The only drawback is that it requires eight AA batteries, which seems like a lot, and I’m curious to see how long they last. Aside from that, it feels well-made and includes everything you need for keyless entry and smart home compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Ace's H.4/5Verified
I like this smart lock because the hardware looks and feels very well made. The materials used look and feel premium. I also like that Philips used an actual keypad rather than a touchpad. I like the tactile response of real buttons you cannot get from a touchpad. I also like the design of the physical key hidden behind the fingerprint sensor. They keyhole is not apparent upon inspection of the lock.
By the way, this model one ups another model by adding a fingerprint sensor.
Installation is very simple. It is no different from installing a traditional deadbolt. Installation and setup only took about 20 minutes, including removal of the existing deadbolt.
The only drawback for me regarding the hardware is the fact that it takes EIGHT AA batteries. Mind you, I do not know how long they will last. But eight batteries a bit much. Also, the lack of untitiveness of the software made setup a little challenging. Thankfully, this is pretty much set and forget.

This WiFi deadbolt requires the Philips Home Access app and can be linked to Alexa. Installation was fairly simple, although I did need to pull the interior module from the door and fully plug in the cable from the exterior module with the assistance of a screwdriver tip. The lock operates from the interior knob, a key cylinder, a thumbprint reader, the keypad, the app, or Alexa/Google. It requires 8 AA batteries (not supplied with the lock).
A Quick Start Guide and a User Manual are provided, along with a template if drilling is needed. The User Manual contains manual programming instructions if WiFi is not available, although ordinarily everything is easily programmed through the app. Both the app and the device are of Chinese origin (Shenzhen Kones Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.): I connected the deadbolt to an IOT network as an ordinary precaution.
The lock works well and looks far better than the door, which will get patched up and painted come summer.
Full disclosure: I ordered this Philips Wi-Fi Door Lock through the Amazon Vine program. As a user of the product, I have done my best to provide an honest review.

I really like these. Purchased two. Easy to install, easy to program, and function well. App is good, easy to use, and helps you keep track of who opens the door and when. Auto-lock feature is nice as well. Batteries included (8). I may even purchase another as I have too many exterior doors lol.

I got this Philips wifi-enabled smart lock to use on a short-term rental, and so far it seems to be working pretty well. The installation is about as straightforward as you can expect when replacing an existing deadbolt lock, and the instructions are good, even for a first-timer. Set up was also relatively straightforward.
In use, I love that the fingerprint reader actually works on the first try (unlike my phone, which often has problems reading my fingerprint). The lock has a myriad of options for locking and unlocking it, between a physical key, numerical codes that you enter on the touch pad, using your fingerprint, and using the mobile app.
The mobile app is also fairly intuitive. My only complaint about the app is that it is sort of tedious to set the date/time for temporary codes (i.e. to give someone the ability to lock/unlock using a code that becomes active on a specific date/time and is inactivated at a later date/time). You have to scroll through the date, hour and minutes separately to set the date/time, so it's slow going and if you don't touch the numbers in just the right spot on your screen, it boots you out and you have to start over.
It's too early in our using this lock to know how long the batteries will last. It uses 8 AA batteries, which is sort of crazy how many; hopefully that means it will last a long time before the batteries need to be replaced, but when they do, you better have a Costco sized pack of batteries! I am sort of amazed that in this day and age, they didn't just design this to use a rechargeable battery--it would have been more economical in the long run and more environmentally friendly to not be tossing 8 batteries at a go.
I have used other smart locks and so far, this one seems the most user friendly (Schlage smart locks really are over rated!), and the finger print reader really makes this a great option for a lock that is going to see frequent use by the same people--no code to remember, no need for your phone or app or anything.

Can't ever connect to the device to even set up wifi. And it can't open the door without a key. After the door is "unlocked" , the latch is not completely retracted, as the picture shows.

Alright, the Philips Built-in Wi-Fi Smart Lock is pretty slick! Installation was a breeze-my husband just swapped out our old deadbolt in about 10 minutes, no special skills needed. The quality feels strong and heavy for a solid entry way lock. The keyless entry is so convenient; I love just tapping my phone to unlock it or using the fingerprint scanner- it’s very responsive and unlocks/locks within a couple seconds. Wi-Fi setup was smooth through their app, and I can share temporary codes for guests, which is super handy for neighbors and cleaning services. Real-time alerts give me updates on if the door is secure, so no more wondering if I left the door open at 2 AM. Battery life hasn’t been an issue for us this far - it takes 8 AA batteries though, so easy to replace when the time comes. Only gripe? The fingerprint reader can be picky when my fingers are wet - minor, though. Overall, worth the price for a solid smart-lock!

The one main con about this was just installing this, as it required a normal screw driver for three small screws instead of something like a multi-bit tool since the hole openings were quite small. I had eventually found one screw driver in my house that would fit this.
The lock itself is pretty great. It's made of plastic, with the lock and whatnot being metal of course. The app works well too, but make sure you don't get the pin and master password confused. It works with just the four batteries, so I haven't installed the others but will eventually. The app is pretty straightforward, it doesn't work with Apple but it will with Alexa and Google so that's cool, definitely was extremely easy with Google home to pair. Fingerprint is nice and fast, with the app, it was easy to put my right thumb onto it similar to a phone when setting up. The mechanical lock works well too as well as the passcode, but it is kind of loud for my use, in a way I guess that's a good thing. One of the things I don't like with the app is that I wish it could make the auto-lock more than 3 minutes. Otherwise, it's a great lock and hopefully it runs the test of time.

I absolutely am inlove with this door lock!!!
The quality is wonderful, it's very well made. Installation is straight forward and very easy. The app you download is also very user friendly, and very nice and simple to use. I had this all set up in under 20 minutes. The finger print scanner is my absolute favorite, it works on the first try every single time, and it works so fast! Also, if you connect this to your Bluetooth, you can see a log of when its unlocked, locked etc and by who. It is very efficient and even looks great. It takes 8 AA batteries, but it comes with them. It only needs 4 to run, so the 8 keep it running for much, much longer. So far our battery life has been great. The lock works very well, and it brings such peace of mind knowing I can lock it from my phone if I forget on the way out, or I can unlock with my phone or finger print if I forget my keys. I am so happy with this purchase and I highly, highly recommend! Its worth every penny!

It's heavy duty. Great feel to it. Love the fingerprint entry and not needing a key.
Kathy J.5/5Verified
Easy to install, love the app. So much easier to configure through the app vs. our old one with no app. So easy to add fingerprint or code. Also get notifications when each code or fingerprint is used. Have not had issues with fingerprint recognition. But have only had for few weeks.
Enmorr5/5Verified
The Philips smart lock looks sleek and feels well built once installed. The fingerprint reader is quick and generally accurate, and the illuminated keypad makes it easy to use at night. Setup isn’t too complicated, but the app could be more intuitive — it takes a bit of exploring to figure out the sharing and setup options for multiple users.
The Wi-Fi control is convenient, though the connection can sometimes lag or drop briefly, depending on signal strength near the door. Battery life is decent but not as long as non-Wi-Fi models, so having spares ready is a good idea.
Overall, it’s a solid and secure upgrade for anyone wanting keyless entry and remote control. I’d give it 4 stars mainly for the app quirks and average battery performance.
Yufeng Z.4/5Verified
I installed Philips Smart Lock with integrated Wi-Fi a few weeks ago and I was very satisfied with the performance. The installation was simple and well explained, I didn't need a technician - the manual and the app guide the whole process intuitively. The integration with Alexa and Google Assistant worked perfectly, allowing you to check the status of the lock by voice or mobile phone.
The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate - it recognizes touch almost instantly, even with a slightly wet finger. The touchscreen keyboard has good sensitivity, with discreet lighting that helps at night without disturbing. The lock comes with 8 batteries, which is great to start using immediately, and the indicator light warns you when the battery is near the end, which avoids surprises.
The design is modern and discreet, and the fact that it is splash-proof makes it safe to use even in partially exposed external doors. During the test, I noticed that the Wi-Fi remained stable and the application updates the inputs and outputs in real time, which brings security and control.
One point to note is that, because it has so many smart functions, it is important to follow the step by step of the initial configuration calmly - especially to connect the app and register the fingerprints. After that, the operation is simple and reliable.
Overall, I consider it an excellent quality smart lock, which combines security, design and convenience. It is a great option for those who want to modernize the house and have full control of access, without depending on keys.

This deadbolt absolutely exceeds all expectations and for the price, best value of any lock I have purchased.
Simple install. Wifi connected up easily and app added lock with no hassle. I've added fingerprints for myself and wife, codes for us, guests, cleaner and emergency. It sends me push notifications if I want, can be disabled but nice to know when someone uses the lock as well as a history in the app.
Has physical keys so I can leave one in a hidden key hider box for emergencies.
8 batteries! I've never had a lock with more than 4 so this alone will double the battery replacement time. Exterior display goes off to conserve battery. I linked it to Alexa so I can have Alexa make sure the lock is locked each night in case I or someone forgets.
It's half the price of others that have less functionality.
Extremely pleased with it and intend to pick up another for the basement for the sole purpose of having Alexa verify each night the lock is locked at bedtime without me having to go down the stairs to check.

I replaced my old deadbolt with this Philips smart lock and couldn’t be happier with the upgrade. Installation was simple — the instructions were clear, and it fit my existing door setup perfectly. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish, and everything worked right away. The fingerprint unlock is fast and accurate, and the keypad feels responsive and high-quality.
The app makes it super convenient to manage access and check the lock status from anywhere. I also love that it works with Alexa, so I can lock the door with a quick voice command. The auto-lock feature adds extra peace of mind when I leave the house, and the included batteries were a nice touch.
Build quality feels premium, with a sturdy metal design and smooth touchscreen that lights up clearly at night. For the price, this Philips smart lock has been reliable, secure, and a big upgrade to both convenience and home security. Highly recommended if you’ve been considering a keyless setup.

this Philips smart door lock is one of the best purchases I've made for my home in a long time. From the moment I installed it, I felt like my front door got a serious upgrade. The sleek touch panel looks super modern and stylish, and it lights up nicely at night so it's easy to see. The fingerprint scanner works like a charm it's fast, accurate, and I haven't had any issues with it not recognizing my thumb, even when it's a bit damp or cold outside.
Installation was pretty straightfoward too. I'm not super handy but the instructions were clear enough that I got it done in under an hour. The app is also really intuitive – I can lock and unlock the door from anywhere, which is super helpful when my kids forget their keys or when I have packages coming. The remote control feature is a lifesaver, especially when I'm out and about.
I also love how it works with Alexa. I just say "Alexa, lock the front door" and boom – done. It's like living in the future lol. The auto-lock feature is another big win for me. I used to constantly worry if I locked the door when leaving, but now it just does it for me after a set time. Peace of mind is priceless.
The build quality feels solid and durable. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy like some other locks I’ve tried before. The matte finish doesn’t show fingerprints and it’s held up well even with all the rain we get here. I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s been working flawlessly.
Overall, I’m super happy with this lock. It’s stylish, secure, and packed with features. Highly recomend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home security. Honestly wish I got it sooner!

This Philips smart lock hits a great convenience sweet spot: built-in Wi-Fi (no extra hub), a responsive fingerprint reader, and a clean touchscreen keypad that lights up clearly at night. Setup was straightforward: pair the app, add prints/codes, connect Alexa/Google, and you’re off. Fingerprint recognition is quick—most unlocks are first try if you enroll the same finger twice. The auto-lock and temporary codes are perfect for guests or cleaners. The indicator light is actually useful (status + low-battery cues), and the splash-proof build has handled rain on a covered porch fine.
What to know: running Wi-Fi 24/7 and the lit touchscreen means it’s hungrier on batteries than Bluetooth-only models. The box includes 8 batteries, which gets you going, but expect to swap sooner if you use auto-lock + remote access heavily. Also, like most full-plate smart locks, installation is simple if your deadbolt is standard; older or tight doors might need minor chisel/strike adjustments. App is stable, but remote unlocks can lag a second or two.
Pros
True hub-free Wi-Fi, easy app + voice assistant setup
Fast fingerprint unlock; keypad is bright and reliable
Auto-lock, guest codes, and status alerts work as advertised
Cons
Battery life is just okay with Wi-Fi/auto-lock enabled
Plate is substantial—measure carefully around trims/storm doors
Occasional 1–2s delay on remote commands
Tips
Enroll each finger twice (tip + pad) for near-perfect reads.
Turn on auto-lock with a sensible delay (e.g., 30–60s).
Use good alkaline or lithium AAs and keep a backup power bank or physical key handy for emergencies.
Bottom line: a polished, keyless upgrade with genuinely fast biometrics and no-hub Wi-Fi. If you’re okay changing batteries a bit more often, it’s a hassle-free daily driver.

This smart home lock is a game-changer! It’s super user-friendly, with an app that’s not too complicated to use. And the best part…it connects seamlessly with the lock, making it a breeze to lock and unlock.
This comes with a detailed user manual, quick-start guide, customer support contact details (if needed) download the Philips smart app called "Home Access", to make the lock configuration easy
- What I really liked is the built in Wi-fi definitely an upgrade from the previous versions that required a hub.
- It works with Alexa and Google assistants
- Totally cool that it comes with 8 batteries
○ some may say that's a lot of batteries…it's NOT as you need to factor the integrated f a continuous Wi-fi connection.
If you are inside, and need to unlock the door for someone you can utilize your home assistant to unlock or lock the door. This feature is quite convenient. Additionally, you have the ability to turn on or off notifications and maintain an activity log.
I am highly satisfied with the Phillips Smart Wi-Fi door lock. Its exceptional quality and functional capabilities are truly remarkable. The lock’s user-friendly interface is both intuitive and elegant, striking a balance between simplicity and sophistication.

Easy to install and setup with the app, looks great and has TONS of features that other brands charge significant premiums for. Perfect price point. Only downside is that the device is not perfectly flat on the backside of the pinpad exterior and with no upper bolts to secure it to the door, there is a tiny gap at the top of the unit between the door. My door is on a covered porch and not an issue with moisture, along with the fact that my door is black so the gap is invisible unless you go looking hard. Hopefully they get the flatness issue worked out.

So far, so good. Super easy to setup on a standard US door. We’ve only been using it for 2 days, but the functionality has been flawless. The auto-locking has worked as expected. We haven’t had any issues adding or using the fingerprint options. The app is really easy to navigate. We went with the nickel option, but it almost doesn’t matter since the touchpad and fingerprint pad are black.
